Last Sunday, November 7, 2010, Urbanathletes take the challenge at the Men’s Health Urbanathlon 2010
Racers scaled an 8-foot wall, climbed hurdles, scrambled low crawls, dashed on balance beams, passed a scaffolding maze and hopped on tire dumps at the recently held Men’s Health Urbanathlon last November 7, 2010 at the Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig City.
Over a thousand participants ran either a 5-km or a 10-km course in the city-based, multidisciplinary race, which claims to be the most demanding Urbanathlon to date!
Lots of surprised friends and acquaintances even posted a fast time despite the obstacles. It was a fun-filled day under the heat of the sun. Lots of smiles and satisfied Urbanathletes brag on with their medals.
As for us marshalls, we could only share the joy.
As early as 2am, marshalls came by the dozens. We’re earlier than the rest because we stayed up the whole night until the call time. We shared part of our being to a friend in need.
These are the men and women who guided the runners along the road. Definitely not an easy task.
Minutes before the final deployment to our respective areas of responsibilities.
Near the last obstacle – The Wall. We watched Urbanathletes jump for joy as they cross, and head for the finishline.
Post-event meal. Delicious!
We started the discussion in the grass. We finalized everything at McDonalds. 🙂
