Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.
Yes. Love ought to be active. Not just in words but in truth and in action. It has to be shown. It must be expressed in a way that it is felt. It can be ignored, yes, but not always. This is the case only when the recipient is estranged or detached or totally alien to the feeling.
Love is something I would not normally define but something I’d do or show. Sinner that I am, I love those who love me…and receive love to those I love. Nothing, however, can compare to God’s love, to His command to love our enemy, To even pray for those who persecute us. Such love requires deeper intimacy to the Father’s love.
